Tiempo con mi familia
I love Sunday afternoons with the family. Growing up as a southern, our weekend family dinners usually consisted of burgers off the grill, potatoes in some form, and homemade cookies or ice cream. I thought nothing would ever compare to good ole american food, but there is something so satisfying about mi suegro's arroz blanco, yuka y bananas verde, y carne con sofrito. Going to my in-laws and getting a warm, filling meal has now started to feel like home cooking to me.
In the beginning I felt like an outsider, but after five years I'm really starting to feel a part of my husband's culture... and I'm starting to truly love it.
