An Afternoon FULL of Love
Being a bridemaid is a whole different experience for me. I have kids so I'm used to not being center of attention anymore, but there is something so incredible about our custom of bridal showers or wedding showers or any sort of shower for that matter. Do they have these customs in other parts of the world? One of my friends went to a party honoring a soon to be wed couple in Canada. They charged at the door and had a bar to buy mixed drinks. All the money collected at the event went to the happy couple to help them start their lives together. Good idea, don't you think?
Whatever the custom, it's truly amazing how a person's community and family come together in support of those they love. I guess the "village" it took to raise the child feels like true family when one of it's own takes major life steps.
